Running on a 1.0 GHz CPU and equipped with 512MB of RAM, the Palm Pre 2 provided sufficient performance for navigating its HP webOS 2.0 environment, which was known for its intuitive user interface and multitasking capabilities. The webOS introduced several innovative features like true multitasking and integrated notifications, which were pioneering at the time. However, the performance was limited by its hardware constraints, especially given the absence of expandable storage beyond the internal 16GB.
