Design and Ergonomics
With dimensions of 113 x 59 x 23 mm and a weight of 178 g, the Palm Treo 650 was relatively compact despite its bulkier form compared to today's sleek smartphones. Its build housed a mini-SIM slot and emphasized practicality over style. The front of the device was dominated by a small but significant 2.4-inch resistive touchscreen, complemented by a physical QWERTY keyboard that enabled efficient typing, particularly useful for email and message-heavy users. The device's tactile five-way navigation button facilitated effortless browsing through menus, a critical feature for users transitioning from traditional PDAs to more phone-centric devices.
