Display and User Interface
The 2.5-inch TFT resistive touchscreen of the Treo 680 features 65K colors and a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels. The touchscreen offers a 1:1 aspect ratio, yielding a pixel density of approximately 181 PPI. While not large by today's standards, the screen size was quite adequate for essential functions like email, browsing, and document viewing. Its resistive technology required firm taps or the use of a stylus for navigation, a common standard before capacitive touch screens became prevalent. The device also includes a 5-way navigation button, enhancing its navigability without overwhelming users with complexity.
