Equipped with a single 1.3 MP camera, the Panasonic VS3 was positioned to cater to basic photography needs. The camera could capture video in QCIF format, primarily for personal memories rather than high-quality imaging. However, it lacked a selfie camera, which was typical at the time. For sound and ringtones, the phone supported vibration alerts along with downloadable polyphonic and MP3 ringtones, but it did not feature a loudspeaker or a 3.5mm jack for external audio input, which could be a downside for music enthusiasts.
