Design and Build
The Philips 659 is remarkably compact, boasting dimensions of 79 x 43 x 21 mm and a weight of just 82 grams. Its size, smaller than many modern devices, makes it highly portable and easy to slip into a pocket. Styled in two color options—Blue Zone and Silver Wing—the phone is visually straightforward, reflecting the minimalist design ethos of early 2000s mobile devices. It accepts a Mini-SIM card, which, at the time, was a standard size before micro and nano-SIMs became prevalent. The dual-display design includes a main TFT screen displaying 65K colors with a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels and an additional three-color OLED external display, which offers basic notifications.
