Network and Connectivity
The Philips 855 operated on GSM 900, 1800, and 1900 bands, making it suitable for use in various international markets. It supported GPRS Class 10 for basic mobile internet connectivity but did not have EDGE support, which limited its data speeds compared to some of its competitors. Lacking modern connectivity options like Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, the phone did include an infrared port, which allowed for limited wireless data transfer, a common feature in that period.
