Network and Connectivity
Focusing on basic connectivity, the Philips 859 supports GSM networks across 900, 1800, and 1900 bands, providing decent global coverage at the time. However, it only offers GPRS for data connections, lacking the speedier EDGE technology. Notably absent are modern connectivity options; there is no support for WLAN, Bluetooth, or GPS. The inclusion of an infrared port does allow for minimal data transfer with compatible devices.
