Philips endeavored to enhance user experience with a TFT resistive touchscreen capable of displaying 256K colors. The main screen had a modest resolution of 128 x 160 pixels, offering adequate visibility for the period’s applications. A unique feature was the additional external CSTN display with 65K colors and a 96 x 64 pixel resolution, which served as an indicator for notifications without needing to activate the main screen—an innovative touch for that time.
