Performance
Under the hood, the Philips W736 runs on the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, powered by a Mediatek MT6577 chipset with a dual-core 1.0 GHz Cortex-A9 CPU. Accompanied by a PowerVR SGX531u GPU, this setup was considered adequate for basic tasks like calling, texting, and light app usage. However, more demanding applications or games could lead to sluggish performance given its modest processing power.
The internal memory is limited to 4GB, with only about 2GB available for user storage. While this restricts the number of apps and media that can be stored directly on the device, the dedicated microSDHC card slot allows for expansion, alleviating some storage concerns.
