Powered by a removable 700 mAh Li-Ion battery, the D840 offers a stand-by time of up to 250 hours and talk time of about 2 hours and 30 minutes. While this battery life seems limited from a modern perspective, it was considered reasonable for the hardware and use cases of the time.
