Under the hood, the Galaxy A40 is powered by the Exynos 7904 chipset built on a 14-nanometer process, complemented by an octa-core CPU that includes two high-performance Cortex-A73 cores running at 1.77 GHz and six power-efficient Cortex-A53 cores at 1.59 GHz. The Mali-G71 MP2 GPU caters to its graphics needs. While the phone initially launched with Android 9.0 Pie, it is upgradable to Android 11, keeping it relatively up to date in terms of software features and security patches.
