Running on Android 2.2 Froyo, the Galaxy Prevail was powered by a Qualcomm MSM7627-3 chipset and an 800 MHz CPU, providing a baseline for multitasking and interaction with Android's app ecosystem at the time. Despite its limited internal storage of 117MB, the inclusion of a dedicated microSDHC slot, with a 2GB card bundled, offered some relief by allowing users to store additional apps and media externally.
