Underneath its sleek exterior, the Galaxy S5 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset and a quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU. Paired with 2GB of RAM, the phone was capable of handling most applications and multitasking needs of its era with ease. The Adreno 330 GPU allowed for smooth graphics performance, particularly in gaming scenarios. Running Android 4.4.2 KitKat at launch, the phone can be upgraded to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, featuring Samsung's distinctive TouchWiz UI.
