Performance
Powered by an 830 MHz ARMv6 processor, the Galaxy Y was never designed for heavy multitasking or high-end gaming. It operated on Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI layered on top, offering a user-friendly interface but performing slowly by modern-day expectations. It came equipped with 290MB of RAM and a mere 180MB of internal storage, expandable via a microSDHC card slot, which was a crucial feature for users needing more space for apps and media.
