Under the hood, the Samsung Mesmerize i500 is powered by a 1.0 GHz Cortex-A8 processor combined with a Hummingbird chipset and a PowerVR SGX540 GPU. During its prime, this setup delivered reasonable performance for multitasking and basic applications. Operating initially on Android 2.1 (Eclair), the device was upgradable to Android 2.2 (Froyo), allowing users to experience improved performance and additional features. However, with only 512 MB of RAM and 2 GB of internal storage, users often had to rely on the microSDHC slot, which could expand storage, with a 16 GB card included.
