Sound and Alerts
The T400 does not come with a loudspeaker or a 3.5mm headphone jack, rather, it provides alerts through vibration and downloadable polyphonic ringtones. This was quite standard for the time, and it allowed users some customization in how they preferred to be notified of incoming calls and messages.
