Design and Display
The Samsung T409 sports a classic clamshell design with compact dimensions of 89 x 47 x 19.5 mm and a lightweight feel at just 88 grams. When closed, this provides protection for its dual displays. The main display is a 2.0-inch TFT screen capable of displaying 65K colors, which, while modest, was suitable for the phone’s primary functionalities at the time. The 120 x 160 pixel resolution offers a pixel density of approximately 100 ppi, which doesn’t compete with modern screens but was adequate for text and basic images back in the day. Additionally, the external STN display provides a 96 x 96 pixel resolution for quick glances at incoming calls or messages.
