Samsung Z300 Design and Display

Design and Display

The Samsung Z300 sports a compact design, with dimensions of 89 x 47 x 25 mm and a weight of 115 grams. Despite being a bit bulky by today's standards, the size was typical for mobile phones in the mid-2000s. Its clamshell form factor was quite popular, providing the dual benefit of screen protection and the novelty of opening to answer calls. The phone features a TFT display capable of showing 256K colors, which was vibrant for its time, with a resolution of 176 x 220 pixels. While the 2.0-inch main screen was a highlight, the secondary OLED external display added convenience by allowing users to check notifications and calls without opening the phone. However, with a screen-to-body ratio of roughly 30.1%, it cannot compete with the expansive displays of contemporary smartphones.
