The connectivity options on the Siemens SL42 were limited by modern standards. There is no support for GPRS or EDGE, and lacking Bluetooth and WLAN means the phone was primarily focused on voice calls and basic SMS messaging. However, it featured an infrared port for data exchange, which was quite innovative back then, serving as one of the few wireless data transfer methods available.
