Performance and User Interface
At the heart of the Sony Ericsson K660 lies modest hardware designed to handle essential smartphone functions of its time. It houses 32MB of internal memory, which was oust in storing vast multimedia files; however, this limitation was partially offset by a memory card slot supporting Memory Stick Micro (M2) with up to 4 GB of storage. The phonebook and call logs were equally pragmatic, supporting 1000 entries with photocall and records of 30 received, dialed, and missed calls.
The K660 ran on Sony Ericsson’s custom UI, with a focus on simplicity and ease of navigation. Notably, the device facilitated seamless communication with support for SMS, EMS, MMS, Email, and Instant Messaging, which was becoming increasingly essential. The pre-installed NetFront 3.4 browser supported WAP 2.0/xHTML and HTML, providing basic web browsing capabilities alongside RSS feed support, enabling users to stay informed on the go.
