Under its hood, the Xperia neo V runs on the Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon S2 chipset, paired with a 1.0 GHz Scorpion CPU and Adreno 205 GPU. While these specifications are outdated by today’s standards, at its release, this hardware offered reliable performance for general tasks, such as browsing and multimedia playback, enabled further by Android 2.3.4 (Gingerbread), upgradable to Ice Cream Sandwich. The 512 MB of RAM and 1 GB of internal storage (of which only 320 MB is user-available) are limiting; however, the inclusion of a dedicated microSDHC slot partially alleviates storage concerns.
