Platform and Performance
The device initially launched with Android 1.6 (Donut), upgradable to Android 2.1 (Eclair), witnessed significant improvements in user experience through its unique Timescape UI, which aggregated social media and communications into a single stream. Under the hood, the Xperia X10 Mini is powered by a Qualcomm MSM7227 Snapdragon S1 chipset with a 600 MHz ARM 11 CPU and Adreno 200 GPU. While specifications certainly pale in comparison to modern standards, they were quite respectable for a device of its class at the time. It handled basic tasks proficiently, although more demanding applications were out of its league. With a meager 128MB of internal storage, users had to rely heavily on microSDHC expandable storage, up to 16GB, for media and apps.
