Internally, the Z530 offers 24 MB of storage, which can be expanded up to 2 GB with a Memory Stick Micro (M2) card. While this might seem severely limited today, it sufficed for storing essential files, contacts, and a small collection of polyphonic ringtones or MP3s. The phonebook can hold up to 1000 contacts with 20 fields each, alongside a photo call feature that allows users to assign images to contacts for easier identification.
