Connectivity
Connectivity options were somewhat limited on the Sidekick LX. It operates on GSM 2G networks, supporting bands across 850, 900, 1800, and 1900 MHz frequencies, with data supported through GPRS and EDGE up to Class 10 capabilities. While there is Bluetooth 2.0, enabling basic file transfers, the absence of WLAN, positioning systems, and FM radio significantly restricts wireless capabilities. The device relied on a proprietary USB connection, which could be seen as a drawback given the later universal adoption of more standardized charging and data ports.
