The GM 710 lacks a loudspeaker and a 3.5mm audio jack, pointing to a minimalist approach to sound and media. Alert functions were limited to vibration and monophonic ringtones, a common setup for the time that ensured users could keep track of calls and messages in the absence of rich media features. The inclusion of a ringtone composer did allow some level of personalization, which was a nice touch for its era.
