Xiaomi Redmi 3 Performance and Software

Performance and Software

Under the hood, the Xiaomi Redmi 3 is powered by the Qualcomm MSM8939v2 Snapdragon 616 chipset. This includes an octa-core CPU composed of four 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 cores for handling more demanding tasks and four 1.2 GHz Cortex-A53 cores for power efficiency during lighter tasks. Coupled with the Adreno 405 GPU, the phone performs reliably for basic to moderate usage, such as browsing, social media, and casual gaming. The phone initially runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with Xiaomi’s MIUI 7 skin, which offers a range of customization options and features. Although the software was not up-to-date even at its release, MIUI provided a smooth user experience.
