At its core, the Redmi Note 4G is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8928 Snapdragon 400 chipset, showcasing a quad-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A7 CPU and an Adreno 305 GPU. Its performance was fairly adequate for day-to-day tasks and moderate multitasking. Paired with 2GB of RAM, the device correctly handled routine operations, although it lagged when faced with more demanding apps or games. The device initially ran on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, upgradable to Android 4.4.2 KitKat, overlaid with Xiaomi's MIUI 5 interface, offering a customized user experience and additional features.
