Performance and Software
Powered by the Mediatek MT6592 chipset built on a 28 nm process, the Redmi Note is equipped with an octa-core Cortex-A7 CPU clocked at 1.4/1.7 GHz and a Mali-450MP4 GPU. This setup allowed it to handle basic multitasking and moderate gaming at a time when octa-core processors were becoming popular in higher-end devices. Initially released with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, the phone was upgradable to Android 4.4.4 KitKat and ran on MIUI 9.2, Xiaomi's custom Android skin, which provided a range of additional features and a unique user interface.
