Performance and Software
The device runs on an Android 6.1 (Marshmallow) operating system, which is upgradable to Android 7.1.1 (Nougat), and utilizes ZTE's MiFavor 4 user interface. The Snapdragon 617 chipset, combined with an octa-core CPU (4x1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4x1.2 GHz Cortex-A53) and an Adreno 405 GPU, offers a performance level sufficient for most everyday tasks. With 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, the Axon 7 Mini handles multitasking and app usage reasonably well for its class, though power users might find its limits during intensive applications. Storage can be expanded via a microSD card, although this requires one of the SIM slots.
