With its compact dimensions of 118.1 x 62.5 x 12.2 mm and a weight of 140 grams, the ZTE Director is easy to hold and operate with one hand. Its design, typical for smartphones of its era, features a plastic body with a non-removable back cover. Despite being made from budget materials, it was durable enough for daily use. The phone's simple design in black gives it a neutral and unobtrusive aesthetic, making it suitable for a wide range of users.
