Under the hood, the ZTE Grand X Pro was powered by a Mediatek MT6577 chipset with a dual-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A9 CPU, paired with 1GB of RAM. While modest by today's standards, this combination was competent enough for basic tasks such as messaging, browsing, and lightweight app usage when it first launched. The PowerVR SGX531u GPU handled simple graphics tasks, though the phone struggled with more demanding applications and gaming. It ran on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, which, at launch, offered a user-friendly interface and access to the Google Play Store, although it became outdated quickly as newer Android versions were released.
