Running on Android 3.0, Honeycomb, the A500 was designed with tablet-specific optimizations, later upgradable to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It is powered by an Nvidia Tegra 2 T20 chipset with a dual-core 1.0 GHz Cortex-A9 processor and ULP GeForce GPU. This combination was quite competitive at the time of release, allowing it to perform reasonably well for tasks such as web browsing, document editing, and light gaming. However, it may struggle with more demanding applications by today’s standards.
