Connectivity and Audio
This model marked Apple's first use of the Lightning connector, which was a substantial shift from the previous 30-pin dock connector, delivering more efficiency and reversible connectivity. It supported a range of connectivity options, including Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS. For audio, the iPhone 5 included a 3.5mm headphone jack, ensuring compatibility with the era's prevailing headphone standard. Despite its small size, it provided commendable audio quality and featured a loudspeaker for hands-free calls and media playback.
