Browsing on the BenQ P31 is supported via a WAP 2.0/xHTML browser, allowing access to mobile-optimized web pages. The handset includes a basic multimedia package featuring an MP3/MP4 player, which was a significant entertainment feature at launch. A proprietary USB link ensures data transfer and charging, which was common practice until more standardized cable inputs became prevalent.
