The Bird V109 was designed to operate on GSM 900 and 1800 2G networks, offering basic connectivity. It included GPRS class 8 for basic data transfer but lacked EDGE capabilities. The phone featured an infrared port, allowing for simplistic wireless data exchange, but did not support more modern wireless technologies such as Bluetooth or WLAN.
In terms of memory, the Bird V109 had a phonebook capable of storing up to 300 entries, featuring photo call functionality so that users could associate images with their contacts. The phone maintained a call log of up to 20 dialed, received, and missed calls. It did not feature external memory support, which was typical for phones of its time, making users reliant on its internal storage.
