Connectivity and Communication
Equipped to support GSM quad-band (850/900/1800/1900), the BlackBerry 7290 allowed for global connectivity, a desirable feature for international business travelers. Connectivity options included GPRS for data transmission; however, it lacked support for EDGE, which limited its data speeds. Bluetooth functionality was included, enabling wireless headset connectivity and data exchange. Notably absent were Wi-Fi, GPS, FM radio, and a 3.5 mm audio jack, but these compromises were typical for a business-oriented device of that era.
