Connectivity and Sound
When it came to connectivity, the Ericsson A3618 was designed for simplicity. It used GSM 900/1800 bands for basic network connectivity. However, it lacked GPRS, EDGE, and any kind of internet browser, characteristic of phones intended primarily for calls and texts. Similarly, it did not support Bluetooth, WLAN, or any form of positioning technology, highlighting its strictly utilitarian nature.
For audio, the phone did not include a loudspeaker or a 3.5mm headphone jack. Alert options were limited to vibration and monophonic ringtones, which users could customize using a ringtone composer.
