Despite lacking a camera, the T36 offered several basic features, including SMS messaging and a WAP 1.2 browser that allowed for rudimentary web browsing. It included standard utilities such as a clock, alarm, and a few games, which added to its basic functionality. The Ericsson T36 also supported multilingual use with availability in 37 languages, and predictive text input to facilitate faster typing. The absence of Java meant limited application expandabilities beyond what was pre-installed.
