Platform and Performance
The device runs on Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 SE PocketPC, which was a popular operating system choice for PDAs and business-centric phones. Powered by a Samsung S3C 2440 400 MHz CPU, the M500 handled basic applications and productivity tasks reasonably well. The inclusion of 64MB RAM and 128MB ROM reflected standard offerings at the time, and perhaps one of the selling points was its expandability, thanks to an SD/SDIO card slot.
