Performance and Software
Under the hood, the Desire is powered by a Qualcomm QSD8250 Snapdragon S1 chipset with a 1.0 GHz Scorpion CPU and Adreno 200 GPU. It operated initially on Android 2.1 Eclair, upgradable to Android 2.2 Froyo paired with HTC Sense UI, providing a smooth and responsive user experience for basic tasks and moderate app use. The device offers 576MB of RAM, which was relatively modest, and 512MB of internal storage, which necessitated the use of an included 4GB microSD card for additional storage.
