The HTC S310 has a compact and robust design, measuring 108 x 47 x 18.5 mm and weighing an unspecified amount, but its form factor ensures that it fits comfortably in the hand. The device uses a Mini-SIM and its aesthetic appeal is enhanced by the choice of three colors: black, white, and grey. Despite the limited screen real estate characteristic of phones from that era, the 2.0-inch TFT display manages to deliver a decent visual experience with its 65K color depth and resolution of 176 x 220 pixels. While the screen-to-body ratio is relatively low at 24.8%, it features a 5-way navigation button, which served as a practical means of user interaction before the advent of touchscreens.
