Performance and Software
Running on Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0, the HTC S310 exemplifies early smartphone software evolution. The device is powered by a 200 MHz ARM926EJ-S CPU, which, while modest by today's standards, was adequate for handling simple mobile tasks in its time. The choice of TI OMAP 850 as the chipset provided the necessary support for running applications suited to the hardware's capabilities. Equipped with 64MB of RAM and 64MB of internal ROM, the phone's performance was more oriented towards basic communication and functionality rather than multitasking and app usage, but storage could be expanded via the miniSD card slot.
