Performance and Software
Under the hood, the Ascend Mate2 4G is powered by the Qualcomm MSM8928 Snapdragon 400 chipset, which incorporates a quad-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A7 CPU and an Adreno 305 GPU. This configuration provided sufficient performance for daily tasks and moderate multitasking when it was released. Accompanied by 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage expandable through a dedicated microSDXC slot, the device catered to users with moderate storage needs. Initially shipping with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, it is upgradable to Android 5.1 Lollipop, layered with Huawei's EMUI 2, which adds a touch of customization albeit with limitations compared to the stock Android experience.
