Performance and Software
At the heart of the i-mate JAQ3 is a TI OMAP 850 chipset with a 200 MHz ARM926EJ-S CPU. This setup seems minimal today, but it was quite standard for Windows Mobile devices at the time. Running on Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 PocketPC OS, the phone supported basic computing tasks expected from a PDA, such as managing emails and calendar appointments. The internal storage of 128MB ROM and 64MB RAM, along with a dedicated microSD card slot, provided expansion options for additional applications and data storage, which was critical for enhancing productivity on the go.
