Motorola A728 Design and Build

Design and Build

The Motorola A728 sports a dimension of 101 x 53 x 21 mm, fitting well within the pocket-friendly requirements of the mid-2000s. Weighing in at just 120 grams, the device maintains a balance between heft and portability. The phone uses a Mini-SIM, typical for that time, ensuring compatibility with most GSM networks. Its design features a resistive touchscreen—a technology soon to be overshadowed by capacitive screens—offering 65K colors on a modest 240 x 320 pixel resolution display. Although limited in visual vibrancy by today’s standards, at the time, it provided a satisfactory user experience, complemented by handwriting and speech recognition capabilities, supporting both Chinese and English inputs.
