Motorola A768i Display and Interface

Display and Interface

Featuring a TFT resistive touchscreen capable of displaying 65,000 colors, the 240 x 320 pixel resolution was adequate for viewing simple graphics and text, although quite limited by today’s standards. Its 4:3 aspect ratio and the introduction of handwriting and speech recognition (in both Chinese and English) were noteworthy innovations. Users could interact directly with their device using a stylus, adding a layer of precision beyond typical button interfaces. Despite the resistive touchscreen technology lagging behind the later capacitive screens in responsiveness, it was a distinguishing feature that set the A768i apart during its time.
