Software and Performance
Operating on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box, the Moto X was upgradable to Android 5.1 Lollipop. This allowed users to experience a then-modern Android experience that prioritized speed and user interface improvements. Under the hood, it was powered by the Qualcomm MSM8960DT Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset, featuring a dual-core 1.7 GHz Krait 300 CPU and an Adreno 320 GPU. While these specs might seem modest by today's standards, at the time of release they provided smooth performance for most tasks and apps. Memory configurations included internal storage options of 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB, all paired with 2GB of RAM, which was sufficient for multitasking, although the lack of a microSD card slot was a limitation for storage expansion enthusiasts.
