Under the hood, the Motorola MT710 was powered by a 624 MHz Marvell PXA310 processor, which was suitable for basic tasks but struggled with more demanding applications. Running an Android-based OPhone 1.5 operating system, it offered a unique user experience that attempted to blend the flexibility of Android with some China-specific customizations and services, as the device was initially targeted at the Chinese market. The internal storage of 4GB, paired with 256MB of RAM, was considered limited even at the time, but the inclusion of a microSDHC card slot allowed for storage expansion, providing some flexibility for users needing more space.
