Performance and Functionality
Under the hood, the WX290 was equipped to handle basic tasks. Its support for GSM 2G technology covered both GSM 900/1800 and GSM 850/1900 bands, accommodating various operator networks for wide-ranging connectivity. However, the absence of EDGE technology indicated slower connection speeds, which limited its data capabilities. For browsing, the WAP 2.0/xHTML browser was available, offering bare-minimum internet access.
On the multimedia front, a VGA primary camera was included. While it didn't support video capture or have a selfie counterpart, this feature was a modest offering for capturing spontaneous moments. The absence of advanced sound options like a 3.5mm audio jack meant reliance on its built-in loudspeaker for audio output, yet the inclusion of a stereo FM radio with RDS suited users who enjoyed traditional radio broadcasts for entertainment.
