O2 XDA Zinc Display and User Interface

Display and User Interface

At the heart of its user experience was a 2.8-inch TFT resistive touchscreen display that supported 65K colors, a common choice for devices of that period. While the screen offered a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels, making it relatively sharp with a pixel density of 143 PPI, it only occupied about 38.4% of the body with the remaining space dedicated to the physical keyboard. The display also supported handwriting recognition, adding to its functionality with a stylus. Navigating the device relied heavily on the resistive touchscreen, differing from the capacitive touchscreens that became popular later.
